ALBERT EUGENE SCHANNUTH

Albert Eugene Schannuth, 78, of Hardin, MO, died at 9:30 p.m., on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO
Albert was born October 10, 1931 to Oscar and Mae (Noblet) Schannuth. He married Donna Gaye Bowman of Hardin on May 14, 1954; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Kelly Schannuth of Hardin; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Todd Leakey and their son, Cole Leakey of Hardin; brother-in-law, Bill Hogan of Carrollton, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Schannuth Hogan; brother-in-law, Dr. Dan Bowman; and step-brother, Arthur Myers.
Albert was an assembly worker for Ford Motor Company for 30 years retiring as an Inspector in 1983. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #249. He was a member of the Rockingham Church of the Brethren. He was a life long farmer. He was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #487 in Hardin. He had lived in the Hardin area most of his life. He had also served on several Levee Boards.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army in Richmond, MO.

It was Albert's request to have a family graveside service at Wakenda Cemetery north of Hardin, MO which was held 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to all who helped in any way in his care and death. A special thanks to Kirstin (Ellis) Manchester for her loving support.
