ALLEN R. HERRING

Allen R. Herring, 85, of Carrollton, MO passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe, MO.
Allen was born on September 30, 1927 near Roads, MO to Lawrence B. and Stella Grace (Merrel) Herring. He married Marjorie L. Carter of Bogard, MO on March 26, 1950; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and James Kenneth Findley of Lee's Summit, MO and Cathy and Jim Francis of Norborne, MO; one brother, Henry Herring of Braymer, MO; two sisters, Louise Kincaid of Pittsburg, MO and Freda Sieg of Pittsburg, MO; four grandchildren, Steven Findley, Kelly Findley, Adam Francis, and Tyler and his wife, Retha Francis; and two great-grandchildren, Kaden Francis and Ryan Francis.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Jean Herring; and one brother, Russell Herring.
Allen was a 1945 graduate of Braymer High School. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. He was a lifelong farmer for over 60 years before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Low Gap Baptist Church. He had lived in Fairfield Township in Carroll County, MO most of his life. He was a member of the A.S.C.S. Committee in Carroll County, MO for over 30 years.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Low Gap Cemetery Association.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Low Gap Cemetery north of Norborne, MO. Online condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com. Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
