ANNA JOYCE DYKES

Anna Joyce Dykes, 83, of Richmond, MO died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Anna was born on February 18, 1928 in Lathrop, MO to Burt and Sarah Lee (Howell) Belcher. She married Donald F. Dykes of Holt, MO on February 15, 1946; he preceded her in death on August 31, 2005.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters in-law, Bob and Sue Dykes of Kearney, MO and Joe and Janet Dykes of Harrisonville, MO; two daughters and one son in-law, Crystal Thomas of Richmond and Donna and Tom Mertz of Edgerton, KS; three sisters and one brother in-law, Erma Lee Smither of Tulsa, OK, Alta Joy Kent of Richmond and Carolyn Jean and Richard Wilson of Cameron, MO; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Keith Belcher, William Franklin Belcher and Lloyd Burton who died in infancy; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Hawkins.
Anna was a meat wrapper at Richmond I.G.A. for 21 years before retiring in 1980. She was of the Christian faith. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin First Baptist Church or to the Ray County Memorial Hospital Physical Therapy Department.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Holt, MO.
