Barbara Jo Tidwell, 67, of Blue Springs, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Center Point Medical Center in Independence.

Barbara was born on December 29, 1954, in Kansas City, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Deckard) Sullivan.  She was united in marriage to Ralph Eugene Tidwell; he preceded her in death on November 11, 2001.

Survivors include: two sons, James (Shell) Tidwell of Kearney and Jason Tidwell of Kansas City; two daughters, Erica Wittmeyer of Kansas City and Julie Horst of Rayville; two brothers James L. (Sue) Sullivan and John L. (Shaun) Sullivan of Excelsior Springs; five sisters, Judy L. Davis of Blue Springs, Opal Testerman of St. Joseph, Patsey Tidwell of Oak Grove, Marie (Terry) Verren of Independence, and Debra (Ray) Young of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons in law, Lance Wittmeyer and Gerald Horst.

Barbara was a 1973 graduate of Lawson High School. She enjoyed playing cards, planting flowers, and traveling. She loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren.
