Barbara Faye Vermeesch, 97, of Rayville, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Valley Manor in Excelsior Springs.

Barbara was born on July 5, 1929, in La Grande, OR, the daughter of Wesley Vivian and Ila Katherine (Southwell) Kennedy. She was united in marriage to Jack W. Vermeesch on October 6, 1946; he preceded her in death on October 25, 2001.

Survivors include: daughter, Judy Fay McIntosh of Richmond; seven grandchildren: Shad Vermeesch, Brent McIntosh, Spencer McIntosh, Shawn McIntosh, David Foster, Ila Marie Wolusky, and Leanna Caldwell; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Virginia (Jim) Foster of Rayville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Wesley W. Vermeesch, four brothers, James Kennedy, Don Kennedy, Tom Kennedy, and Dude Kennedy, and three sisters, Helen May Dippold, Rosie Burleson, and Margie Shier.
