BENJAMIN ALFRED "BENNIE" LAWSON
Benjamin A. "Bennie" Lawson, 92, of rural Hardin, Mo, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, Mo.
Bennie was born on July 1, 1923 in Braymer, Mo to John and Pearl (Kromeich) Lawson. He married Cora Mae McElwee of Braymer, Mo on February 16, 1942. She preceded him in death on February 24, 1995.
Survivors include; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Raymond Burk of Hardin, Mo, a ½ sister, Virginia Lee of freeman, Mo, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bennie was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lawson, a daughter, Pearl Allred, 1 brother, Elmore Lawson, 2 sisters, Nellie and Mary, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
Bennie was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Black Oak United Methodist Church. Bennie was a good, honest and hardworking man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a great husband, father, brother and grandfather. He lived in the Hardin area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Interment will be in the Black Oak Cemetery which is southeast of Braymer, Mo.
