BERNICE THOMPSON
Bernice Thompson, 97, of Omaha, NE and formerly of Richmond, MO died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Omaha.
Survivors include daughter, Marilyn Pike; granddaughter, Krista LeClair and her husband Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Alex LeClair; all of Omaha.
Bernice was born on July 1, 1914 in Caldwell County, MO to John W. and Hattie O. (Cox) Maddux. She married James Aubrey Thompson on February 27, 1934; he preceded her in death on June 1, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Moyer and Gertrude Maddux, who died in infancy, as well as one brother, James Maddux.
Bernice was a 1934 graduate from Richmond High School. She was a secretary to the credit manager at the RCA Distributing Corps before retiring in 1976. She lived in Kansas City, KS before moving back to Richmond 1996, where she was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at the Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
