BERTHA L. CRINGAN
Bertha L. Cringan, 85, of Richmond, MO, died at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.
Bertha was born on January 13, 1926 in Richmond, MO to Napoleon B. and Oma E. (Hedrick) Whelchel. She married Roscoe William Cringan of Camden, MO on September 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1991.
Survivors include; one son, Billy Cringan of Richmond, MO; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Loretta and Leon Cunningham of Crane, MO, Nina and Clifford Caylor of Lawson, MO, Mary and Jimmie LaFollette of Kansas City, MO, Lola and David Caylor of Richmond, MO, Frances and Larry Harris of Verona, MO, Celeste Cringan of Verona, MO; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bertha was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Whelchel and Pete Whelchel; two sisters, Genieva Thompson and Ida Hayes; and one granddaughter, Sally Ann LaFollette.
Bertha was a member of the Richmond Assembly of God Church. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family would like to thank Lawson Manor for the wonderful care given to their mother and grandmother for the last eight years.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
