BETTIE L. HERRING

Bettie L. Herring, 92, of Hardin, MO died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.

Bettie was born on February 9, 1923 in Hardin to Basil W. and Lula (Fletcher) Gibson, Sr. She married Will T. Herring of Carroll County, MO on November 11, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2005.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Danny and Janice Herring of Hardin and Terry and Nancy Herring of Hardin; one daughter and one son-in-law, Linda and Tony McGinnis of Nixa, MO; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Wayne and Omar Herring, Michele Thompson and her husband, Roy, T.J. McGinnis, Eric McGinnis, Kari Huff and her husband, Steve, Tara Herring and Christopher Herring; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Layton and Troy Doss and Devon and Kalie Huff.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bettie was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Gibson and Basil Gibson, Jr; and one granddaughter, Kelly Doss.

Bettie was bookkeeper for Moentmann Brothers Inc. in Norborne, MO for 20 years. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Norborne. She was a member of the Triangle Trail Riders and also of the Good Sam's Club. Bettie had lived in Hardin area all of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Norborne.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
