Betty Jo Brenneman, 96, of Norborne, MO passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, with her family by her side.

Betty was born on March 8, 1922 near Norborne, the daughter of Clifton C. and Pauline (Berning) Belt. She graduated from Norborne High School in 1940.  In July of 1940, Betty married Henry Ernest Brenneman; he preceded her in death on April 7, 1971.

Together they had five children: Linda (Ron) Gibson of Norborne; John (Eva Hernandez) Brenneman of Kansas City; David (Brenda) Brenneman of Odessa; Nancy (Ron) Anderson of Fayette; and Susan (Cary) Engle of Ozawkie, Kansas. She had eight grandchildren and one step-grandson; Todd (Sharon) Gibson of Norborne; Stacey Steffens of Poplar Bluff; Jason (Lisa) Brenneman and Roxane Engelbrecht of Colorado Springs, CO; Annie Brenneman of Richmond; Becky (Matt) Keeney of Hoover, AL; David (Meghan) Anderson of St. Louis; Jennifer (Beck Kuchkarov) Engle of Ozawkie, Kansas; and Stephen (Kris) Burkett of Winter Garden, FL. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother George "Bud" Belt and her granddaughter, Stacey.

Betty lived most of her life on Ada Street in Norborne. She was a homemaker and a farm owner.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne, the Norborne M.I. Club, and P.E.O. Chapter EU of Norborne. She taught Sunday school and vacation bible school and served as church secretary for a number of years.  Her life was devoted to her family and her church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Burial will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne.
