Obituary

Betty Corrina Hall, 82, of Richmond, died Saturday, January 26, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Betty was born on December 11, 1936, in Drakesboro, KY, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Duncan) Miller.  Betty was first married to Gene Capps in Kentucky in 1952; he preceded her in death in 1962.  She was then united in marriage to William "Bill" John Hall, Sr., of Lexington, on December 20, 1963; he preceded her in death on December 2, 2017.

Survivors include: two sons: William "Bill" John (Mechelle) Hall, Jr., of Hardin, and Jesse Ray (Teresa) Capps of Grandview; two daughters: Christina "Tina" (Daniel) Weber of Rayville and Betty Jean Craft of Richmond; one sister: Vicki Duncan of Warsaw; 21 grandchildren: Corrina (Alex) Brueck, Dakota Allen, Laynee Weber, Daniel Weber, Jr., John Weber, Jewelianne Griffin Weber, William (Allison) Hall, III, Shoshona Hall, Allen Hall, Jesse Capps, Jr., Jamie (James) Cordry, Joseph (Jennifer) Capps, Jr., Misty Lida, Amber (William) Sprong, Mariah (Earl) Glenn, Trisha (Jonathan) Gieger, Daniel Franklin, Dena (Chuck) Horne, and Kristy Goodknecht; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two sons: Joseph Capps, Sr. and Robert "Bobby" Hall, two grandsons: Shane Hall and Aaron Hall, one granddaughter Tiana Allen, one brother William "Bubby" Miller, and one sister Vera Fant.

Betty was reared and educated in Kentucky and moved to Missouri in 1962.  Betty was a housewife and a homemaker and also worked as a beautician for many years.  She worked in Lexington at the Grand Duchess and in Richmond at JP's.  She was of the Christian faith.  Betty was an honored woman, in the tribe of Mic-O-Say, and helped to mold many young scouts into Eagle Scouts, including her four boys and three grandsons.  Betty was a member of the Lexington CB Club and her handle was the Kentucky Blonde.  She found joy in sewing, crafting, fishing, cooking, and her family.  She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Boy Scout Troop 324.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street - P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 1, 2019, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  There will be a Tribe of Mic-O-Say service starting at 1:45 P.M. prior to service time at 2:00 P.M.  Interment will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.  Please share your memories of Betty by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
