BETTY MAE (KAVANAUGH) RAINEY

Betty Mae (Kavanaugh) Rainey, 82, of Bates City, MO and formerly of Richmond, MO died Thursday, August 02, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
Betty was born was on August 2, 1930 near the Rockingham Community north of Hardin, MO to Clyde and Emma (Letholt) Williams. She married Sullivan Rainey of Eudora, AR on August 25, 1971; he preceded her in death on November 26, 2004.
Survivors include one son, Frank Kavanaugh of Bates City; one grandson, Brandon Kavanaugh; and one aunt, Junita Petree of Independence, MO;
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one sister, Dorlis Wall.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of the Stet High School. She was a homemaker. Betty had worked at Lake City Arsenal. She was a member of the Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Independence. She had lived most of her life in the Richmond and Independence area.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, August 6, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery north of Hardin, MO.
