BETTY SUE MCCOMAS

Betty Sue McComas, 73, of Richmond, MO died Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.

Betty was born on January 21, 1942 in Joplin, MO to Joseph and Florence (Clark) Russell.

Survivors include her mother, Florence Bessmer of Buckner, MO; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rhonda Barnhart of Ottawa, KS and Renee and Douglas Vanderslice of North Kansas City, MO, and a grandson, Calvin "Jake" Bayliff of Arlington, VA; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Carolyn Bandy of Buckner, MO, Donna and Wayne Fairchild of Napoleon, MO and Joann Lampton of Kiln, MS; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Russell; and step-father, Robert Bessmer.

Betty was a 1959 graduate from Hardin High School. She was a homemaker. She worked at Ideal Industries. Betty was a great artist. She had lived in Richmond most of her life. Betty's family was her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ideal Industries in Richmond.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Wakenda Cemetery north of Hardin, MO.
