Betty Marie (Tweedie) Poyner

Betty Marie Tweedie was born December 19, 1924, daughter of Russell and Lura Tweedie of Stet, MO. She graduated from Stet High School and Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg. She taught Home Economics in Norborne and Braymer schools for four years. On September 1, 1949 she wed Raymond Paul Poyner, who preceded her in death in 2007. Betty died April 26, 2015 in Fitchburg, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Virgil Tweedie, and a granddaughter, Lucy Poyner. Betty is survived by two sisters, Rachel Miller and Lois Forsythe, both of Carrollton; three children, Kay Poyner Brown, Russ Poyner (Carolyn Kennedy), and Rick Poyner (Lori Locascio); six grandchildren, Sam, Lura, Adam, Rachel, Julian, and Tom; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is at 10 am Friday, May 1 at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond immediately preceding the Memorial Service, with burial to follow in Richmond Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers you may wish to make a donation to your local hospice organization or the American Heart Association in memory of Betty Poyner.
