Beverly Ann Johnston (89) passed away on August 6, 2017 one of seven children born to Tom and Hester Wollard of Hardin, Missouri.
Beverly grew up on a farm near Hardin, Missouri. After graduating from high school she attended Business School in Kansas City, then started working for the Kansas City Ticket Company. On March 11, 1950 Beverly married Osby Edward Johnston and lived happily in the Kansas City area for over 50 years, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 10 years and Woodway, Texas for 10 years. Beverly and her husband were members of Broadway Methodist Church, Kansas City, Missouri for over 60 years where they both taught Sunday school. She was a proud member of the Women of The Motion Picture Industry in Kansas City Missouri.
Surviving are her son, Edward and wife Marilyn, Sierra Vista, Arizona, a daughter Deborah, Woodway, Texas, one grandson, Ward Johnston and wife Petrika Peters Johnston and two great grandsons, Olson Osby and Wren Stewart of Spearfish, South Dakota. She has four sister-in-laws, 5 nieces and 9 nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years and parents and 6 siblings. Beverly took great pride and enjoyment in her family and friends and never missed sending Birthday cards to many. She was a very special lady that was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Hope Cemetery Association.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery north of Hardin, MO.
