BILLY W. "BILL" BENEFIEL, SR.

Billy W. "Bill" Benefiel, Sr., 69, of Norborne, MO, died at 1:00 a.m., Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Life Care Center, Carrollton, MO.
Bill was born May 31, 1941 to Lee Roy and Florence A. (Mullikin) Benefiel. He married Gayle D. Jackson of Kansas City, MO on November 25, 1964; she survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Billy W. "Chug" Benefiel, Jr. and Angel of Norborne; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Stephen Rupp of Kansas City, MO and Diane and David Reid of Higginsville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Ted R. and Sandy Benefiel of Peculiar, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Eugene Ogle of Independence, MO, and Betty and Larry Drehle of Grandview, MO; and seven grandchildren, Megan and Adam Reid, Brandon and Brett Benefiel, and Lauren, Hailey and Wesley Rupp.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry E. Benefiel.
Bill worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 20 years before retiring in 2001. He had also worked as an installer for K.C. Linoleum and Carpet for 20 years. He had lived in the Norborne area most of his life. He was of the Christian faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Carrollton Pence-Lovell-England VFW Post # 1773.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Preferred Hospice in Lexington, MO.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Norborne, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO. Burial will be at Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, MO, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Carrollton Pence-Lovell-England VFW Post #1773. Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
