Obituary

Billy F. Boehmer, 86, of rural Norborne, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his daughter's home in Marshall.

Billy F. Boehmer was born on May 31, 1932 in Norborne, the son of William F. and Clara Marie (Renzelman) Boehmer.  He was united in marriage to Kathleen (Katie) Buhlig of Norborne on November 5, 1954.  She preceded him in death on September 5, 1995.

Survivors include: his daughter Coleen Skouby of Marshall; two grandchildren: Christy Skouby (Angie Sutherland) and Matt (Jenna) Skouby; five great-grandchildren: Shea Skouby, William Skouby, Talon Skouby, Jack Skouby, and Dakota Skouby.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Ken Skouby.

Billy was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated from the Norborne High School.  Billy was a well-known area farmer northeast of Norborne.  He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving as Sergeant in the 2 nd Division Artillery.  Billy was an active community member and served in many capacities.  He was a member of the Norborne Lion's Club and held several offices locally and at the state level.  He was voted Soy Bean King for the Norborne Soy Bean Festival. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne.  He was an avid Mizzou, Royals, and Norborne Sports fan, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

If you would like to make a memorial contribution the family suggests they be made to either the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne or the Norborne Lion's Club.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 27, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne with Pastor Kim Scharff to officiate.  Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery at Norborne, with full military honors, provided by the Pence-Lovell-England V.F.W.
