Billy Jeff Franklin, 41, of Malta Bend, MO, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Ray County.

Billy was born on May 3, 1985, in Kansas City, the son of Robert Edward and Nancy Lee (Gregory) Franklin. He was united in marriage to Mallori Wilson.

Survivors include: his mother, Nancy Franklin; two sons, Joseph Franklin of Alabama and Benjamin Franklin of Nevada; daughter, Kathleen Franklin of Nevada; brother, Chris Franklin of Malta Bend; and four sisters: Bobbie Howell, Ariell Franklin, Jackie Franklin, Kay Franklin (T.C. Bethel), all of Malta Bend.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Billy was raised and educated in Norborne, graduating from Norborne High School with the Class of 2004. A true jack of all trades, Billy was a skilled and resourceful man who could build or fix just about anything he set his mind to. He took great pride in his ability to live off the grid and off the land, making the most of what nature had to offer. Billy had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Above all else, Billy's greatest pride and joy were his children, who meant the world to him.
