BILLY J. POSS, SR.

Billy J. Poss, Sr., 78, of Richmond, MO and formerly of Rison, AR died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Billy was born on February 16, 1934 in Grant County, AR to Joe Tom and Vercie (James) Poss. He married Mary Maxine Crawford of Kingsland, AR in February of 1955; she preceded him in death on July 2, 2010.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Jackie Poss, Jr of Richmond; one daughter, Connie Dianne Davis of Sherwood, AR; one brother and sister-in-law, Guy and Pat Poss of Rison, AR; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survives.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Poss and Donald Ray Poss; one sister, Edna Neel; one grandson, Jamie McElwee; and two great-grandchildren, which died in infancy.
Billy worked as a Mechanic for several repair shops in Rison. He lived most of his life in Rison until moving to Richmond in 2010. He was of the Christian faith and had attended the Hardin Baptist Church since moving to Richmond. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Koran War.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Billy J. Poss, Sr., memorial fund.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, AR. Graveside services will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Davis Cemetery in Grapevine, AR.
