BUFORD EARL WIGHTMAN
Buford Earl Wightman, 91, of Norborne, MO, died on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Gladstone, MO.
Buford was born on September 21, 1921 in Plymouth, MO to Claude and Ollie Myrtle (Cox) Wightman. He married Doris June Stephenson of Bosworth, MO on June 18, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2011.
Survivors include; one son, John B. Wightman of Grain Valley, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy J. and Lou Baldin of Gladstone, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley Wightman of Olympia, WA; five grandchildren and their spouses, Angelina and Eric Baynes, Jennifer and Eli Rauer, Brett S. and Ashley Wightman, Tarah Wightman, Jessica and Ryan Beaver; and five great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, Buford was preceded in death by three brothers, Win, Howard and Vern Wightman and three sisters, Lottie North, Willa Hardy and Ann Light.
Buford was an Auto Body Mechanic for Kassen-Erickson Motor Company in Norborne, MO from 1951 until he retired in 1986. He was a United States Army veteran of WW II, where he was a switchboard operator for General McArthur in Manila. He was a member of the Norborne United Methodist Church. He had lived in Norborne most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Norborne United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Norborne United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, MO. Burial with military graveside services provided by the Pence-Lovell-England American Legion will be in Fairhaven Cemetery.
