Carl Gene Ramseyer

Carl Gene Ramseyer, 78 of Independence, Mo died Monday, March 14, 2016, at CenterPoint Hospital in Independence, MO.

Carl was born on June 24, 1937 in Barton County, MO to Aaron and Emma (Shaw) Ramseyer. He married Eva Marie Hendricks of Lawson, MO on April 23, 1977. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2014.

Additional survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Josh Smith of Independence, MO; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Melvin and Kathy Ramseyer of Joplin, MO, Charles and Florence Ramseyer of Harrisonville, MO and Joe and Beverly Ramseyer of Lamar, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Larry Blythe of Pittsburg, KS; four step- sons and four step-daughters-in-law, Mark Benton and Margret Stockton of Lee's Summit, Mo, Ronnie Dean and Margaret Stockton of Camden, Mo, Larry William and Maureen Stockton of Zephyr Hills, FL, Clifford Dowe and Darlene Stockton of Lexington, Mo; one step- daughter and step- son-in-law, Deborah Gail and Frank Ashinhurst of Lexington, Mo; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by 4 grandchildren.

Carl was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked for Adtranz Corp as an Engineer for 30 years in Tampa Bay, FL before retiring in 2000. He had lived most of his life in Florida before moving back to Missouri in 2000. He was of the Christian faith.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family's choice.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016 from1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
