CAROL RAE CARLSON

Carol Rae Carlson, 68, of Rayville, MO died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Convalescent Center in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Carol was born on March 6, 1947 in Burke, SD to Robert and Doris (Anderson) Crakes. She married Lloyd Phillip Carlson of Burke, SD on June 14, 1969.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of Rayville; special friend & her nurse, Marlene Ann Corl; and Shaun Sallee who Carol mentored at the Lawson Schools.

Carol was Valedictorian of her graduating class at the Burke South Dakota High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree and was Salutatorian at the Southern State Teacher's College in Springfield, South Dakota. Carol was a 4th grade teacher in the Kansas City and Lawson school districts before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church. She lived in Kansas City before moving to Rayville 39 years ago.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lee Ann Britain Infant and Development Center at 9129 W. 75 ^th Street, Overland Park, KS 66204.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Inurnment will be at a later date.
