Carol Ann Hays, 81, of Richmond passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Valley Manner in Excelsior Springs.

Carol was born on February 7, 1944, in Boston, MA, the daughter of Wilfred and Annette (Fitzgerald) Ostiguy. She was united in marriage to Thomas L. Hays, in Boston, MA, on June 15, 1963.  He preceded her in death on January 9, 2003.

Carol is survived by: daughter, Robin D. (Ronnie) Russell of Richmond; four sons, Thomas L. Hays of Warsaw, Timothy M. Hays of Richmond, Theodore J. (Christine) Hays of Kearney and Tyson F. Hays of Rushville; brother Gene Ostiguy of Lakewood, CO; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, CarolAnn E. Hays, granddaughter, Pennie E. Russell, and sister, Annette Martin.

Carol was born and raised in Boston, MA, and relocated with her family to Missouri in February of 1974. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great pride in caring for her home and family. A talented crocheter, Carol lovingly created many beautiful blankets for her loved ones. She enjoyed spending time at the lake, reading, playing cards, and working in her garden—especially when surrounded by those she held dear.
