CAROL JEAN HEIL

Carol Jean Heil, 75, of Richmond, MO passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Carol was born on January 11, 1939 in Norborne, MO to Joseph H. and Lois E. (Newport) Hamilton. She married Robert Lee Heil of Norborne on February 3, 1956; he preceded her in death on November 17, 2011.

Survivors include one son, Matthew Heil of Richmond; her Brazilian daughter and family, Liliane and Paul Barbaban of Overland Park, KS; two brothers, Rusty Hamilton and his wife, Marsha of Butler, MO and Jerry Hamilton and his wife, Theresa of Norborne; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Melissa Heil, Angie and Brad Steele, Isaac Heil and Hayden Heil; and 5 great-grandchildren, Macki Steele, Lochlan Steele, Brett Heil, Clara Heil and James Earl. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by one son, Mark Heil; one daughter, Susan Heil; and two brothers, Bobby Joe Hamilton and Danny Hamilton.

Carol was a registered nurse. She received her RN degree from the William Jewell College of Nursing. Carol and her husband, Bob farmed in the Hardin and Richmond areas for over 55 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority-Delta NU Chapter. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond. Carol had lived in the Richmond area most of her life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Carol J. Heil memorial fund.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
