CAROL SUE RENER

Carol Sue Rener, 79, of Independence, MO, passed on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Kansas City Transitional Center in Kansas City, KS.

Carol Sue was born on November 8, 1936 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Lawson N. and Temple (Wilson) Knipschild.  She married Joseph Edward Rener of Carrollton, MO on November 24, 1957; he preceded her in death on June 21, 1996.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Lawson S. Rener and his wife Tricia of Leawood, KS; one brother, John Knipschild and his significant other Oscar Trevino of Red Oak, TX ; one sister, Martha Drehle of Norborne, MO and two grandchildren Annie Rener and Lincoln Rener.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Carol Sue worked in banking over the years for several banks; Hardin State Bank, Union National Bank, Standard State Bank, Peoples Bank and Standard Bank & Trust.  She also worked for Catherine's Clothing in Independence.  Carol was a 60 year member of the O.E.S. Chapter #520 in Kansas City, MO.  Carol Sue was also a member of the St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Independence.  She loved gardening and the Kansas City Royals.  Carol Sue lived in the Kansas City area most of her life.  Most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #520 or the Hardin Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 14, 2016 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO.  Visitation will be Monday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with and O.E.S. service at 10:45 a.m.   Interment will be in the Hardin Cemetery, Hardin, MO, next to her husband.  Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
