CAROL FRANCIS THOMAS
Carol Francis Thomas, 84, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home.
Carol was born on March 31, 1929 in Hughesville, MO to William and Fern (Forbes) Thomas. He married Lucille Marie "Pat" Pummil of Sedalia, MO on December 24, 1953; she preceded him in death on May 25, 2002.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Brad and Mary Thomas of Liberty, MO and Carl Thomas of Richmond, MO. three grandchildren, Stacey Stroble and her husband, Troy, Jordan Thomas and Bailey Thomas; and one great-granddaughter, Paige Stroble.
In addition to his parents and wife, Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Thomas and Earl Thomas.
Carol worked for the Missouri Public Service from 1953 to 1991, when he retired. He was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church, the Richmond V.F.W and the Richmond American Legion. He also served on the Richmond City Council for two terms. He moved his family to Richmond in 1967. Carol served his country in the United States Air force in Korea during the Korean War.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Richmond where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
