Obituary

Carolyn Lee Flint, 75, of Odessa, went to heaven on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Carolyn was born on December 1, 1948, in Lexington, the daughter of Binnie Lloyd and Mamie Marie "Sue" (Wrisinger) Trainer. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Steven G. Flint of 27 years. They were united in marriage in Eureka Springs, AK on July 19, 1997.

Carolyn's beautiful life & spirit will forever be cherished in the lives of: three children: Candida "Dee" White of Odessa, Jeff (Michelle) Flint of Warrensburg, and Vanessa Flint of Independence; eight grandchildren: Aaron Stirewalt, Arie (Tiffany) Kerr, Ryan White (Melissa Jenkins), Kelsey Templeton, Destiny Dorrell, Dalton Heinrich, Calvin Heinrich, Charlotte Heinrich, seven great­ grandchildren: Carter Kerr, Maddox Kerr, Parker Kerr, Adeline Jenkins, Luna Templeton, Hudson Dorrell, and Katherine Dorrell,; brother, Steve (Karen) Trainer of Sydney, OH; sister, Bonnie Sue (Robert) Lindsay of Edwards; and two nephews, Bobby Lindsay of Lone Jack, Ray Lindsay of Edwards; two nieces, Shanan Trainer of Gladstone and Janet Wilson of Excelsior Springs; a special lifelong family friend, Lonnie White of Camdenton, and many other cousins and great-nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Stirewalt, and great­ grandson, Caden Kerr.

Carolyn was raised in Richmond, where she attended school and graduated from Richmond High School. She dedicated herself to being a loving housewife and homemaker for the past 27 years, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Carolyn found joy in many hobbies, from fishing on peaceful days to sewing and crafting with her own hands. She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, & other board games as well as going to the casino to play slot machines. She had a special talent for building and refinishing furniture, breathing new life into old pieces, and she loved the thrill of discovering treasures while antique shopping.

Music and movement were also dear to her; she was a self-taught pianist and enjoyed dancing whenever the opportunity arose. She rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune & almost always was the l'' to solve the puzzle. Above all, Carolyn cherished her time with her grandchildren and family, who filled her life with love and laughter. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M., with services to follow at 2:00 P.M.
