CATHERINE ELIZABETH "KATIE" RASA

Catherine Elizabeth "Katie" Rasa, 83, of Lexington, MO, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.
Katie was born on May 18, 1925 in Lexington, MO to Forrest Wallace, Sr. and Catherine (Herd) Wallace. She married Francis L. Rasa of Lexington on August 30, 1947; he survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, James E. and Myrna Wallace of Lexington; one sister, Iris Dean Hogan of Lexington; and one grandson, Chase S. Rasa of Kansas City, MO.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Steven Rasa; four brothers, Forrest Wallace, Jr., Harry Wallace, Bobby Wallace and William "Bill" Wallace.
Katie lived in the Lexington area all of her life. She had served as Deputy Recorder of Lafayette County, had worked at Building and Loan in Lexington, was an Abstractor for the Lafayette County Abstract Office, was Office Manager for the PWSD #2 in Lafayette County, was a volunteer for the Lexington Clothes Closet and volunteered at the 4-Life Center in Lexington. She had served on the Lafayette County Election Board for fifty years, for the Dover Township. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Lexington.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ or C.A.R. Fund.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 15, at 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Lexington, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Lexington, MO. Burial will be at Lexington Memory Gardens, Lexington, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
