Obituary

Charles Lee Brock, 80, of Windsor, formerly of Norborne, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Charles was born on October 29, 1939, in Norborne, the son of Floyd Elsworth and Ruby Juanita (Dye) Brock.  He was first united in marriage to Donna Beard of Bogard; they later divorced.  He was then united in marriage to Wendy Barker of Norborne on February 14, 1987; they later divorced.

Survivors include: two sons, Keith (Brenda) Brock and Kevin (Judy) Brock, both of Bogard; daughter, Melissa Brock of Sedalia; five grandchildren: Megan (Dustin) Spence, Amanda (Blake) Riley, Adam (Crystal) Brock, Cody (Lauren) Brock, and Brandy Brock; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry (Vickie) Brock of Norborne and Arthur "Butch" Brock of Richmond; sister, Brenda (Arlie) Riley of Norborne; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Floyd Elsworth Brock, Jr. and Gary Dean Brock, sisters, Linda Sue Piper, Barbara Jean Brock, and Kathleen Louise Brock in infancy.

Charles was reared and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Norborne High School in 1957.  After high school, he attended teacher's college in Warrensburg, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education.  Charles taught at numerous schools in Missouri and Kansas where he was a P.E teacher, counselor, coach, principal, and superintendent.  He enjoyed teaching and coaching; teaching kids was his passion.  He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Charles will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.

The family suggests memorial contributions, in memory of Charles, be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street, P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation, to share memories of Charles, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, followed by additional fellowship and refreshments at the Goppert Community Center in Norborne from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Inurnment will be held at a later date.  Please remember to share your memories of Charles with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
