Obituary

CHARLES H. GREEN, III

Charles H. Green III, fondly known as "Judge" died May 26, 2016 with family by his side.

Judge was born in Kansas City, Missouri and was welcomed with open arms by parents Elizabeth Herd and Charles H. Green Jr.   Judge grew up in Higginsville, Missouri, and was a 1958 graduate of Higginsville High School.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962 from Westminster College.  He served from 1962 to 1964 in the U.S. Army with duty in Germany where he held the rank of First Lieutenant.   After his service, he returned to Kansas City where he attended law school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.  He graduated from Law School in 1969 and passed the bar exam shortly after.  Judge went into practice with his father and formed Green & Green Attorneys and Counselors at Law in Higginsville, Missouri.  He continued in that practice until he retired in 2005.

Judge is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth.  He is survived by:  his sister, Trill Gates and her husband, Paul, of Anchorage Alaska; his oldest daughter, Kim Kirchner and her husband, Edgar, of Freiburg, Germany; his youngest daughter, Jackie Bahr and her husband, Erik, of Dallas, Texas; and his four grandchildren, Paul and Mia Kirchner and Ryan and Patrick Bahr, who were his pride and joy.

Judge loved the outdoors and looked forward to annual hunting trips and trail rides with friends.   He was generous almost to a fault and rarely ever complained throughout his long battle with Parkinson's.  His sense of humor and big laugh will be sorely missed.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinson Foundation at 8900 State Line Rd, Suite 320  Leawood, KS 66206

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Missouri.  Burial will be in the Graff Cemetery north of Braymer, MO where military honors will be provided by the Ray County Veterans in Richmond.
