CLARENCE ALVA "NICK" NICHOLS

Clarence Alva "Nick" Nichols, 69, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Nick was born on July 6, 1945 in Kalamazoo, MI to Clarence and Alberta (Brakes) Nichols. He married Vera A. Workman of Ava, MO on July 27, 1979. She survives of the home.

Survivors include three step-sons, Perry Small of Richmond, Richard Brazeal and his wife, Margie of Independence, MO and Donald Dean Brazeal and his wife, Linda of Overland Park, KS; two step-daughters, Sally Tuttle of Richmond and Della Smith; one brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Etta Nichols of Joplin, MO; and several step-grandchildren; and several great-step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by two step-sons, Ray Brazeal and Johnny Joe Smith; and one sister, Dawn Mahoney.

Nick was a groundskeeper for Mt. Washington Cemetery for 22 years. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was of the Christian faith. Nick had lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Richmond in 2007.

Memorial graveside services will be held at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO at a later date.
