Clarence "Marshall" Farris, 72, of Richmond, died Monday, July 8, 2019, at Liberty Hospital.
Marshall was born on July 18, 1946, in Orrick, the son of Clarence Marshall and Alice Irene (Covey) Farris. He was united in marriage to Viola Ann Roberts of Stet on July 17, 1970; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one step-son, Alan (Ivy) McGruder of Fort Worth, TX; one son, James Farris; one daughter, Tanya Manuel of Richmond; seven grandchildren: Quentin McGruder, Sara (Jared) Rowe, Jesse Fidler, Cara Ford, Olivia Fidler, Christopher Diaz, and Jayceon Diaz; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Alice Barry of Independence, Patricia Marlar, and Christa Palmer both of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Marshall was reared and educated in the area of his birth. He first worked at Lake City Arsenal and then worked in the area as a carpenter, building homes, and retired 1994. Marshall loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed deer, turkey, and mushroom hunting.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clarence "Marshall" Farris Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
