CLAUDE F. SUMMERS

Claude F. Summers, 95, of Richmond, MO, died at 3:30 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Claude was born November 8, 1914 in Norborne, MO to Walter and Pearl (Nair) Summers. He married Charmien Elece Grove of Hardin, MO on February 8, 1941; she preceded him in on January 9, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Claudine Wetzel of Cheyenne, WY; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Tammy Summers of Richmond, and John and Barbara Summers of Mountain Home, AR; four grandchildren, Carl Wetzel of Thornton, CO, Sheri Foster and her husband, Roy of Cheyenne, WY, Taryn Summers of Kansas City, MO, and Reid Summers of Richmond; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Foster and Sarah Elece Foster.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, Pat Summers, Emmert "Sebe" Summers and Mark Summers; and two sisters, Ollie Chambers and Mildred Chambers.
Claude was a tool and die maker for 20 years and a farmer for 20 years. He lived in the mountains of Colorado for 25 years, but lived most of his life in Ray County. He was a Charter Member of the Shirkey Golf Club. He was of the Christian faith.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wakenda Cemetery, Hardin, MO.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Private family graveside services will be held at Wakenda Cemetery, north of Hardin, MO. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
