COLBY LEE MILLER

Colby Lee Miller, 85, a well known farmer of Stet, MO, passed away at 4:43 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the University of Columbia Medical Center in Columbia, MO.
Colby was born on February 15, 1925 in Stet, MO to Gilbert Thomas and Lucy Pebble Miller. He married Faith Alberta Haas of Stet, MO on July 28, 1947. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2005.
Survivors include; one son, Ricky Lee Miller of Stet, MO, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kay and David Chapnick and granddaughter, Rachel Chapnick, all of Lake Worth, Florida. He is also survived by one sister, Wilda Silvoso of Columbia, MO.
In addition to his parents and wife, Colby was preceded in death by one brother, Delmer Miller.
Colby's family moved to Dewitt, MO, where he attended school until he was a junior in high school. His family returned to Stet where he graduated from high school in 1943. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II. After the war, he returned back to Stet to take over the family farm. Colby was of the Christian faith. He had lived in the Stet area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt Olivet Cemetery.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, near Stet, MO. Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
