COLETTA ANNE CRONE
Coletta Anne Crone, 87, of Norborne, MO died at 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Carroll House in Carrollton, MO.
Coletta was born on September 18, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to Jasper Coleman and Anna Margaret (Hyland) Reece. She married Kenneth Harold Crone of Kansas City, KS on June 15, 1946; he preceded her in death on August 21, 2005.
Survivors include two sons and daughter in-law, Stephen P. and Eleanor Crone of Geneva, IL and John C. Crone of Gulfport, FL; four daughters and sons in-law, Maryanne "Dede" and Ron Markley of Norborne, MO, Rita and Tony Deike of Traverse City, MI, Maureen and Lynn Schefsky of Midland, MI and Paula D. "Polly" and Sam Baker of Collierville, TN; 10 grandchildren, Patricia and Patrick O'Shaughnesy, Elizabeth and Tim Spaeth, Melissa Crone, Jennifer and Everett Shields, Deborah and Kris Heil, Kenneth and Cassandra Brown, Christopher and Brandi Deiki, Patrick Schefsky, Chet Baker and Anna Baker; and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Coletta was preceded in death by two brothers, Jasper Reece and Richard Reece.
Coletta was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Anne's Alter Society. She had lived in Green Valley, AZ before moving to Norborne in 2005. Coletta was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary; she was a member of the 2nd Marine Division Auxiliary and Clarke University Alumni Association. She received her B.S. degree in Biology from Clark College in Dubuque, IA and was a bacteriologist at the University of Iowa.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the Sacred Heart Catholic Heart Cemetery.
A memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne., where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Norborne.
