CRATE JUNIOR LOVE

Crate J. Love, 90, of Lexington, MO, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Oak Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oak Grove, MO.

Crate was born on May 9, 1923 in Camden, MO to Adam and Lula (Harrison) Love. He married Linnes Josephine Rogers of Camden, MO on May 10, 1947. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2012.

Survivors include; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Alton (Junior) Westerman of Lexington, MO and Kathy and Duane Cooper of Henderson, NV; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Crate is also survived by one sister-in-law, Leona Love of Richmond, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Crate was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Harrison, George Love, Bill Love and Hoey Love; two sisters, Dortha Alexander, Martha Howe; and one great granddaughter, Mercy Ratliff.

Crate was of the Christian faith. He worked in the personnel department for the Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II. He had lived in Camden, Richmond, and Liberty, MO areas, before moving to Lexington in 2005.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery, where military graveside services will be provided by the Ray County Veterans.
