DANIEL RAY (DAN) MENKE

Daniel Ray (Dan) Menke, 58, of Richmond, MO, died at 3:29 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO.
Dan was born on January 22, 1952 in Joplin, MO to Elmer Henry and Mary Jane (Richards) Menke. He married Tammy Sue Maxwell of Gravios Mills, MO. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include; his mother, Mary Jane Menke of Richmond, MO; three brothers, Mike Menke and his wife, Shelly of El Cajon, CA, Dave Menke and his wife, Diana of Overland Park, KS, Mark Menke and his significant other, Claudia Gould of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Pat Hall and her husband, Randy of Lexington, MO; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Dan was preceded in death by his father.
Dan was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. He was employed at Lake City Arsenal since 1981. He owned Trophies by Menke for eighteen years. He had been an EMT and a Fireman for the Richmond area. He was a past president and an active life member of the All Sports Club in Richmond. He was a member of the Ray County Ambulance District Board. He had lived most of his life in Richmond.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Education Foundation.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Richmond Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
