DARREN EUGENE HEWITT

Darren Eugene Hewitt, 55, of Henrietta, MO died Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Darren was born on November 21, 1960 at Richmond, MO, one of four children born to Albert E. and Kay E. (Parrish) Hewitt.
Survivors include: two brothers, Wesley E. Hewitt and his wife Donna Sue "Susie" of Richmond and Christopher E. Hewitt and his wife Cindy of Richmond; one sister, Brenda Hambrick of Excelsior Springs, MO; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends who were with him through thick and thin, from childhood to his passing.
Darren graduated from Richmond High School and CMSU Police Academy in Warrensburg. Darren retired after working for many years in law enforcement in Lafayette and Ray Counties and was loved by all he worked with, serving as a dispatcher, jailer and Sheriff's Deputy. Darren enjoyed collecting and trading guns. He loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He liked the old west and anything John Wayne related. He was of the Christian faith.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.

A memorial service for Darren will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. March 2, 2016 at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date by the family. Online condolences may be left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
