DAVID KEITH HATFIELD
David Keith Hatfield, 84 of Cowgill, MO, died at 4:35 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO.
Mr. Hatfield was born December 11, 1927 in Cowgill to Ruby Lee and Ruby Irene (Michael) Hatfield, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his cousins.
Mr. Hatfield attended Cowgill schools, grew up and worked on the family farm south of Cowgill until enlisting in the U.S. Army for service in Korea, continuing farming upon his return. He was a cattleman, owner and operator of Hatfield Real Estate, a member of the Board of Directors of Hardin Savings and Green Hills Telephone.
He was dedicated to service to his family, his country, and community. He was a lifelong member of the Cowgill United Methodist Church, a Scoutmaster, and a member of the American Legion, the Polo Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, Ararat Shrine Temple, Richmond Shrine Club, Ray County Farm Bureau, 4-H leader, Ray County Hospital Auxiliary and Ray County Home Health Boards. He was a mentor and loyal friend to many.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cowgill United Methodist Church or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cowgill, MO. Visitations will be Thursday, February 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO; and Friday, February 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill, MO, where military graveside services will be provided by the Ray County Veterans. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO is in charge of the arrangements.
