David Dwayne Milligan, 59, of the Stet/Braymer area, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, KS.
David was born on October 22, 1962, in Richmond, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital, the son of Richard T. and Carolyn Jean (Hawkins) Milligan.
Survivors include: mother, Carolyn Jean Woods of Braymer; three sisters: Vicki (Mike) O'Dell of Braymer, Sherry (Mark) Geisinger of Belton, and Tammy Blacklock of Edgewood, TX; step-sister, Julie Woods of San Antonio, TX; many nephews and nieces; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and a whole lot of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard T. Milligan, and his step-father, Raymond Woods.
David was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated from Stet High School in the class of 1981. After high school, he attended Vo-Tech in Lexington for Autobody. David worked as a carpenter, for the Ford Motor Company, and in Farming and Agriculture. He worked as a migratory harvester following the harvest of wheat and other crops throughout the Midwest. David was a hard-working man who loved to have a good time. He was loved dearly by his family, enjoyed telling stories, and visiting with his friends. David loved the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing. David was a member of Bethany Church of the Brethren in Stet, and he was baptized there in March of 1975.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bethany Church of the Brethren. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, Rev. Jason Frazer to officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, north of Hardin.
