DONALD DAVIS

Donald Davis, 84, of Richmond, MO, died at 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO.
Donald was born May 20, 1925 in Warrensburg, MO to Lonnie M. and Leona (Bolling) Davis. He married Virginia Pauline O'Dell of Richmond on November 9, 1947; she preceded him in death on November 13, 2007.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Don and Kim Davis of Richmond; one daughter and her significant other, Monica Davis and Bob Thurber of Lawrence, KS; one sister, Juanita Teegarden of Richmond; and two grandchildren, Rachel Davis and Sarah Davis.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Davis; and one sister Helen Bryant.
Donald was a farmer. He lived in Richmond most of his life. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Richmond VFW Post #4398.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Red Cross.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, MO. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Richmond, MO, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #237 and Richmond VFW Post #4398.
