DONALD DEAN "DON" LEAKEY

Donald Dean "Don" Leakey, 74, formerly of Norborne, MO,  died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.

Don was born on October 7, 1942 in Carroll County, MO to Carl Myers and Edith Mae (Evans) Leakey.

Survivors include; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Heather and Pete Sobbing of Kansas City and Stacey and David Gurule of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren, Joseph August Sobbing, Maggie Maye Sobbing, Stanley Jacob Montgomery Sobbing, Aiden Gurule and Silas Gurule.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Jean White.

Don was a United States Army Veteran serving his county during Vietnam.  He was a self-employed farmer.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Don lived in Norborne and the surrounding area most of his life.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Donald Dean "Don" Leakey memorial fund.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Burial will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne where military honors will be provided by the Pence-Lovell-England V.F.W. Post #1773 in Carrollton, MO.
