DONALD RAY MADDUX

Donald Ray Maddux, 79, of Lawson, MO died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Donald was born on July 7, 1932 in Elmira, MO to Benton and Opal May (Pollard) Maddux. He married Anna L. "Lou" Holman of Lawson on November 3, 1949; she survives of the home.
Survivors include two sons, David Ross Maddux and his wife, Christa of Holt, MO and Dale Reid Maddux and his wife, Staci of Lawson; two daughters, Dixie Raye Edwards of Lawson and Dianna Renee Brown and her husband, Matt of Lawson; 8 grandchildren, Andrea Sampson, Ben Maddux, Benton Maddux, Lane Maddux, Evan Edwards, Cory Castro, Erika Castro and Deshanna Heavelow; 7 great-grandchildren, Roan Heavelow, Andy Sampson, Nicholas Sampson, Joshua Sampson, Noah Maddux, Grace Maddux and Hope Maddux; 2 nieces and 2 nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by one son, Danny Ray Maddux who died in infancy; one brother, J.B. Maddux; and one sister, Rowena Sturgeon.
Donald was a rural Mail Carrier for 32 years and a lifelong Farmer. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had lived in Elmira most of his life. Donald was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Ray County Veterans.
