DONALD WAYNE "POPS" HOLLOWAY, SR.

Donald Wayne "Pops" Holloway, Sr. 78, of Richmond, MO died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Donald was born on June 27, 1937 in Independence, MO to Charles and Edith (Barber) Holloway. He married Agnes Rae Owens of California on January 12, 1962. She preceded him in death on August 29, 1994.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Wayne Holloway, Jr. and his wife, Robin of Harrisonville, MO, Danny Holloway of Orrick, MO and David and Melissa Holloway of Fleming, MO; one daughter, Faith Ashby of Excelsior Springs, MO; ½ sister, Cathy of California; 24 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by one daughter, Dena Bates.

Donald was a United States Army Veteran. He worked as a farm hand for several farmers in the Ray County area. He was of the Baptist faith. Donald had lived in the Camden and Orrick areas most of his life. Pops was a real jack of all trades. He loved to play Santa for his grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Donald Wayne Holloway, Sr. Memorial Fund.

A celebration of life for Donald Holloway was held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. by his family. Inurnment will be held at a later date. On line condolences may be left on our website at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
