Donna Faye "Sally" Minnick, 91, of Richmond, died Friday, June 19, 2020, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond.

She was born on February 4, 1929, in Ray County, the daughter of Joseph and Iva Earl (Wrisinger) Thompson.  She was united in marriage to Earnest William Minnick, "Jr." of Richmond on September 23, 1945; he preceded her in death on July 21, 1981.

Sally leaves behind: five children: Dale (Judy) Minnick of Richmond, Mike Minnick of Richmond, Donna (Mike) Rimmer of Sunrise Beach, David Minnick of Richmond, and Steve (Stephanie) Minnick of Richmond; 15 grandchildren: Andrea Ashinhurst, Chanda Johnson, Scott Fletcher, Jason (Liz) Minnick, Carisa Minnick, Michael Minnick, Jr., Magan Minnick (Tony Hussing), Chad (Erin) Minnick, Amber (Corey) Borden, Mickey (Chrissy) Rimmer, Chantel (Wayne) Thaxton, Amanda Perry, Brooklyn (Chad) Rogers, Logan (Courtney) Minnick, and Sean Sullivan; 30 great-grandchildren: Carson, Aiden, Benton, Brittanie, and Brookie Ashinhurst, Aerial Elliott, Harley Vanzant, Drake, Ivy, and Marcus McFee, Lottie Fletcher, Trystin, Mattie, Blake, and Tyler Minnick, Nichole Jefferies, Abagail, Lizzy, and Cassie Rimmer, Alexis, Mykayla, and Detrick Thaxton, Paige, Allyssa, Mason, and Pressley Minnick, Emerson and Kinslee Borden, Avery and Taylee Rogers; 8 great-great-grandchildren: Sophia and Averiona Ashinhurst, Amir Elliott, Santerra (TT) Taylor, Ryatt and R.J. Mayberry, Braelyn and Briar Werle; two sisters, Betsy Hodson and Emma MacDonald, both of Richmond; and two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Mayden of Carrollton and Faye Earley of Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, Frank and Mark Ashinhurst, and Earnie Rimmer, four brothers, George Junior Thompson, Clyde Thompson, Russell D. Thompson, and Earl Dean Thompson, and three sisters, Grace Wrisinger, Frieda VanMeter, and Doris Calvert.

Sally was reared and educated in Richmond and was a housewife and homemaker and raised all her children at home.  After their children left the home, she worked for Walls Clothing, Raders Clothing, Duvall's Clothing, Benjamin Franklin's, and a greeter at Walmart in Richmond.  She was active with the Salvation Army, where she volunteered much of her time.  Sally also worked in the school kitchen.  She was a member of the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church.  Sally was an avid Royals fan, enjoyed shopping, liked to go on cruises, and especially loved all her family and her dog, Buddy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.  Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.  Ceremonies entrusted to Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.  Please remember to share your memories of Sally with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com .
