DONNA SUE THOMPSON
Donna Sue Thompson, 66, of Rayville, MO died on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born on February 6, 1949 in North Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Nelson Ray and Violet Ruth (Black) Pemberton. She married James Edward Thompson of Malvern, AR, on July 22, 2005; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Robert (Sylvia) Closterman and Scott (Lorene) Closterman both of Kearney, MO; one daughter Cindy Price of Liberty, MO; one brother Lawrence (Linda) Pemberton of Tonganoxie, KS; one sister Clarice (Alan) Smith of Bethany, MO; step-son Kenny Ray (Angela) Thompson of Malvern, step-daughter Carrie Kaye (Daniel) Korp of Manhattan, KS; Donna was also the guardian to Dylon Pemberton who was considered part of the immediate family; 11 grandchildren: Amber Closterman, Jon Closterman, Amanda Callaway, Samantha Closterman, Kimberly Closterman, Scott Closterman, Jr., Sky Mesa, Ryan Mesa, Heather Price, Madison Korp and Laurelye Korp and six great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna was a housewife and homemaker. Donna enjoyed and lived for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and all of her family and friends. Donna was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church. She had lived most of her life in the Rayville area. She was a faithful volunteer for the Relay for Life with all her family.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Donna Thompson memorial fund.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Burial will be in the White Chapel Cemetery on Antioch in Gladstone, MO on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church.
