DOROTHY MAE SHANNON

Dorothy Mae Shannon, 84, of Norborne, MO died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Life Care Center in Carrollton, MO.
Dorothy was born on May 8, 1930 in Waverly, MO to Owen and Flossie (Hicks) Bristow. She married Wayne S. Shannon of Norborne on October 24, 1947; he preceded her in death on November 14, 2005.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Claudia Shannon of Lexington, MO and Gary ?Gizmo? and Debbie Shannon of Carrollton, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Charlie Stark of Gladstone, MO; one brother, Owen Bristow of Higginsville, MO; one sister, Wilma Page of Kansas City, KS; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Bristow; three sisters, Mary, Betty and Norma; and one grandson, Rodney Shannon.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She had worked at Webb?s restaurant in Carrollton for several years. She was of the Baptist faith. Dorothy had lived in Norborne most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the American Lung Association.
