Dorothy Marie (Burkman) Toone a resident of Lawson passed away on May 7, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born on March 24, 1929 to Russell Andrew Burkman and Alice Matina (Adolfson) Burkman in Idaho Falls, ID.

Dorothy grew up in Idaho falls and attended the College of Idaho where she met her husband, Richard Elton Toone, they were married on May 1, 1948 in Caldwell, Canyon, ID. He preceded her in death in 2002. She and Richard raised their family in Covina, California. She retired with her husband to LaVerkin, Utah. She moved to Ray County MO in 2016 to be near family.

Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed visits from her family. She loved music, especially hymns. She sang alto and played the piano. She was industrious and always had a project going on. She was a prolific genealogist and was proud of her Swedish ancestry. She enjoyed gardening, learning, and had an interest in politics, nutrition and religious studies, especially the old testament. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her baby daughter, Linda Mae Toone.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Susan Alice (Hal Mardis), Marie Ellen (Phil Kerste), Lois Jean (Jim Robinson), her son, Joel Richard Toone (Cynthia Ferch), her sister, Ruth Sigrid (Ray Osborne), her brother, Fred Russell Burkman (Bette Bair), and 137 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
