DOROTHY ELLEN WILLIAMS

Dorothy Ellen Williams, 90, of Richmond, Missouri died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Dorothy was born on August 11, 1926 in Wyandotte County, Kansas to James E. and Jennie M. Comer. She married Harold E. Williams, Sr. of Norborne, Missouri on February 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1992.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy A. Williams of Columbia, Missouri; and one son and daughter-in-law, Harold E. (Gene) and Mary Kay Williams of Hoisington, Kansas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Hicks.

Dorothy was a homemaker.  She had been employed, early in life, by General Motors Aircraft Division in Kansas City, Kansas, and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, in Kansas City, Missouri. She and her husband, Harold also worked at the Highlander Laundromat, in Richmond. She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church in Richmond.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the United Methodist Church, or Shirkey Hospice in Richmond.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington, Missouri
