EFFIE MAE GREER

Effie Mae Greer, 89, Lexington, MO and formerly of Henrietta and Richmond, died at 1:38 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO.
Effie was born on March 15, 1920 in Antlers, OK to Michael Joseph and Sarah Tennessee (Martin) Sullivan. She married William K. Greer of Lathrop, MO on September 4, 1937. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1980.
Survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Martin Dale and Marilyn Greer of Chillicothe, MO, two daughters and one son-in-law, Judith Ann Zilliox of Richmond, MO, Donna Jean and Bob Swindler of Lexington, MO, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mildred and James Duncan of Kansas City, MO, Margaret Bahr of Topeka, KS, twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Effie was preceded in death by one son, William David Greer, three brothers, Charles "Jack" Sullivan, Emmett Sullivan, John L. Sullivan, three sisters, Cora Lena Findley, Maxine Benson and Ruth Wray.
Effie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Henrietta Garden Club for over twenty years. She was an avid bowler, quilter and bird watcher. She was of the Christian faith. She had lived in Henrietta and Richmond before moving to Lexington.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
